what things do we need to note when use Heightened Fork Pallet Truck

2025-04-25

When using a Heightened Fork Pallet Truck (also known as a High-Lift Pallet Truck), there are several important points to note to ensure safe and efficient operation. These trucks are designed to lift pallets higher than standard pallet jacks, often used for feeding pallets into machines or workbenches. Here's what to keep in mind:

Pre-Use Inspection

Check for leaks in hydraulic systems.

Inspect forks for cracks or deformations.

Ensure wheels and castors are in good condition.

Test lifting and lowering functions before use.

Verify that safety features (like brakes or stabilizers) are working.

Operational Safety

Stabilizers/Outriggers must contact the ground when raised above a certain height—never lift loads without them deployed.

Do not exceed the rated load capacity—overloading is dangerous.

Evenly distribute the load on the forks to prevent tipping.

Always raise and lower loads slowly and steadily.

Avoid moving the truck while the load is lifted—lower it first.

Use on flat, stable surfaces only—these trucks are not made for uneven ground.

Operator Awareness

Operator should be trained and authorized.

Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, safety shoes, etc.).

Keep hands, feet, and body clear of moving parts.

Be mindful of overhead obstructions when lifting.

Never use the truck to lift or transport people.

Emergency Situations

Know the manual lowering mechanism in case of hydraulic failure.

Keep a clear path in case of emergency lowering

Immediately report and tag out any malfunctioning equipment.
